Important update: My new favorite comment on the ‘literary dealbreakers’ thread begins: “Well, I’m just a high school student, and if I saw a guy at my school reading Vonnegut or who actually read AND liked Catcher in the Rye in English class I would definately want to talk to him.” Cuteness! But, like, you’d think this wouldn’t be such a tall order?

I love Heartbreaking Work but also looooved Vonnegut in high school (didn’t like Catcher in the Rye, but that’s because I was supposed to). Conundrum.
Once witnessed a hipster in a coffee shop acting like he was reading the LAST chapter of Catcher in the Rye. So obvious.
I would have been much more subtle with my worn copy of The Sexual Life of Catherine M.
